I wish I had known about this website last week, have just come back from Port Douglas.
I can definitely recommend The Court House Hotel (http://www.at-the-courty.com/) the chef is very knowledgeable and does an absolutely amazing GF coral sea (seafood) curry.
Also highly recommended is Tortilla's Cocina Mexicana on Macrossan Street.

Ahh, good ol' Macrossan Street! We were gonna go to Finz but it looked a bit expensive.

We had breakfast at Mango Jam and rehab. At rehab, I ordered the crossiant with fruit 'decoration'... You'd think it would be AT LEAST a couple of pieces of fruit, yeh? I got half a slice of kiwi fruit.

We went to Bistro 3 as well, I didn't find the menu that extensive and I found the waitress a little annoying because they kept asking us if our food was ok, while we were eating! The food was nice though.

If you're buying gelati in Port Douglas, don't get it on the cone. It melts before you've paid for it! Get it in a cup.

That's my two cents.
