Product Review: Food for Health range

Welcome to the new area of Gluten Shmooten – product reviews! The first product review is on the Food for Health gluten free range of muesli and muesli bars.

There are 2 muesli bars to choose from – fruit and fruit free. Both bars are nice and light but still fill you up, a really good morning or afternoon snack or for breakfast on the run.

Also 2 muesli options to choose from – fruit and fruit free. The fruit free is my favourite – really nice and crunchy with a beautiful tinge of cinnamon. I’ve taken to having this for breakfast with chopped up banana – yum!

The fruit option is also crunchy with bits of dried fruit – a bit more plain than the non fruit version with no strong cinnamon flavour.

The thing I like most about this range is that the ingredients are all natural – when I read the side of the box I know what everything is, no random chemicals or numbers like so many products you see nowadays. And I love that there are no extravagant substitutes for gluten – there doesn’t need to be – you clearly don’t need gluten to make a good muesli!

Available in the health food aisle at Coles, Safeway and IGA stores.

  2. That’s my favourite muesli actually! When I had to move back to Singapore, I always asked my boyfriend to bring over a couple of boxes of the GF muesli. So glad they come in bar form now!!!

I always buy the gf muesli with the fruit in it (not shown in your photos). I like the fact that it is also sulphur free etc.

I find the yellow box (standard gf museli) is too dry for me (tastes like i am chewing cardboard) as i don’t add anything to it besides soy milk.

Haven’t tried the bars yet as the price tag keeps putting me off (normally over $7 a box).

I tried the Fruit Free Clusters with Chia at the gluten free expo in Brisbane in May. Wow!! what a super yummy product this is. :-) ) very delicious, could be a new danger zone because I really could nibble through a whole box watching a movie.
I’m having a wee spot of trouble though trying to locate a supplier of this particular museli in Brisbane. It’s a new product in their range…so I’ll keep pushing my local stores to stock it!
