Pizza Farro at 608 High Street in Thornbury is one of my favourite places to eat in Melbourne. It has a huge gluten free selection of pizzas and desserts. The staff are helpful, and the ambiance is spectacular. With rolling pins hanging from beams in the roof and the pizza oven and kitchen right next to the diners, it is clear that Pizza Farro is for those who love food. And even beyond that they really make the effort to make delicious food that those of us with picky and allergic palates can stomach. I once ordered a pizza for take away and asked for it without mozzarella, simply because I don’t like it. When I went to pick up the pizza it came with all the other cheese and diary products in little containers on the side just on the off chance that I was vegan or lactose intolerant. Now that is good service!

I’ve been there numerous times and my favourite pizza is the Ricotta. A deliciously thin gluten free pizza base covered in olive tapenade, spinach leaves, ricotta cheese, artichoke hearts and pine nuts! However, I’ve tried the Patate and the Caprese and they are amazing as well.

They offer several gluten free desserts; this last time I tried the caramel and coconut gluten free slice. It was heavenly. I’d also recommend their Nutella pizza, but only if you can handle your sugar highs!
