Pizza Capers
Gourmet pizza places seem to be all the rage in the past few years, popping up all over the place…Pizza Capers is a new-ish one to Victoria, with 4 locations so far. I went to the Malvern shop, which is take away only, no dine in options. There is a huge menu to choose from, with a small range of traditional pizzas and a large range of gourmet pizzas. They also do kids pizzas, salads, seafood pizzas, breads like garlic bread, herb, olive, and more (for gluten free breads they do it pizza style). They do risottos and pastas but neither are gluten free.
As with most places that do gluten free pizzas, it’s a few dollars extra for gluten free and they only do one size, which is in between their regular and large size. They also do half / half pizzas for an extra $1.
Their menu states that some toppings / dressings contain gluten so keep these in mind when choosing: Teriyaki marinade, Hollandaise sauce, Caesar Salad Dressing or Croutons. I’d also probably be cautious with the salamis, pepperonis and chorizos.
The pizza we had, half Exotic Potato and half Country Pumpkin was really nice, not a lot of cheese but generous with toppings, it was filling but felt like we were still being relatively healthy compared to a big greasy pizza you get at some other places.

Hi Gluten Schmooten!
Thanks so much for your lovely article on our Gluten friendly range!
In addition to your comments about which gluten products to be cautious of, there are 3 more I can add to your list.
-Lemon Pepper, which is used as a garnish. (may contain gluten or soy)
-Cajun Spices, also a garnish. (may contain gluten or soy)
-And lastly, our Pepperoni has yeast extract in it. Hope this helps!
If you have any questions, or feedback to send through, we’d love to hear it!

Does the the yeast extract in the pepperoni contain gluten?
I get pizza capers every time i get to order a pizza up over the phone and i get my friends to order them in there area on the other side of brisbane and i also order them over the phone when i’m at runaway bay on the gold coast and i’ve have friends in craigieburn victoria and when i hear of a shop opening up in craigieburn i would get them into pizza capers. they make one of the best pizzas i have tryed and i have had them since there first shop opened and i think they should think of opening up a restraunts around australia. For pizza lovers there is about 5 pizza capers on the Gold Coast.
