Melbourne Celiac Meetups!

Feb 2, 2011 by

Ever wanted to meet up with other Celiacs in Melbourne to share a meal (gluten free of course!) and make new friends? Well here is your chance. The Celiac Association of Melbourne is a new group on Meetup.com that anyone can join to connect with other gluten free foodies. Click here to have a look at their Meetup.com group – if you’re free this Friday they have a dinner in the Docklands, if you’re not free I’m sure there will be lots more outings to come!

Below is a short outline of the group from the group organiser, Rebecca:

‘The Celiac Association of Melbourne is for all people with Celiac Disease, gluten intolerance (or gluten free by choice). Sometimes it can get very difficult knowing where to eat out, what to ask for (or not ask for) as well as putting up with intolerant attitudes from waiters and chefs. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still enjoy the privilege of living in this fantastic city and enjoying the great culinary delights it has to offer. If you have been recently diagnosed, born that way or gluten free curious its time to stop feeling like the odd one out at the dinner table and instead enjoy the company of others like you when we go out and about the town to celebrate great food.’

  1. Hi! Just wanted to say that I love your website: Melbourne really needs a resource like this. I’m a new gluten-free blogger, living near Melbourne, so wanted to say a hello to a fellow local and a thank you for this great site. If you ever have any recipes you want me to adapt to healthy gluten-free, let me know :) And I’ll be sure to recommend any restaurants to you!
    Cheers, Kate.
