Imperial Hotel, Melbourne

On a Friday night you’ll see a mixture of after work drinks, football and pre-theatre crowds. This pub is right at the top of Bourke St, corner of Spring St so in a great location. They have a small but good range of gluten free meals including steaks, chicken and risotto dishes. For a full menu go to http://www.bourkestreetimperial.com

After seeing this restaurant advertised here the girlfriend and I wanted to go check out the Imperial for dinner. The menu was extremely over priced, the GF options were mainly steaks and vegetables, the porterhouse and rump steak tasted like they had been frozen and reheated, as they were completely dry. The gravy which came on the steak was watery and had no taste and the most sickening part was that we had to swat away flies from our meals the whole time.

Don’t bother going here.. You shouldn’t have to pay for meals of that standard and under those conditions. We will never go back and I hope the have a health inspector show up.

That sounds awful! I haven’t been here for quite a while so it sounds like they have really gone downhill which is a shame…
