I'm sorry Kelly, but I don't think it's fair to call it false advertising. Due to the presence of gluten EVERYWHERE in a pizza shop, it is almost impossible for Crust to 'guarantee' gluten free pizzas. As I commented in your blog, it almost all comes down to human action, which means that some room must be given for human error. In my experience, they do their best. And if they don't, complain. Help them to improve their practice so that better service can be given to all Coeliacs. Complaining all over the internet only besmirches someone's name, and does not help anyone to improve. I think that if a local store was not taking a gluten free order seriously, then the big guys at Crust would SURELY have something to say about it.

Eat pizza here all the time (Gourmet Smoked Ham + Pineapple on GF base = Yum!).
Have been ill only once out of a dozen times of eating there. I enjoy the taste so much and I've tasted some bad GF pizza bases.

You take a big risk eating out as a coeliac, so when you find a good thing you should stick to it.

Website is very helpful for allergies.

I give this one 9 out of 10.

That's a bit of a worry, I would have hoped that they only have this disclaimer because they are a large-ish company with a paranoid legal team, but if you've seen it in practice that's not good at all. I think there's definetly a need for education on what "gluten free" actually means.

Have a bit of a look at my blog http://hubpages.com/hub/Crust-Gourmet-Pizza-Bar

I have a few pizza places including Crust, which I am concerned about, due to their FALSE gluten free advertising!

It is sad to see how businesses underestimate Coeliac Disease. Some of the places in melbourne you mentioned, I'd imagine are very accommodating (they don't throw up disclaimers and all sorts of nonsense). Anyways, visit my site and let me know what you think!
