Budapest Restaurant has been on my list to try for aaaaaages, and finally last week I did. There are not a lot of Hungarian restaurants in Melbourne but of the few that exist this one is towards the top of the list. And I have high standards – my background is Hungarian so I’m used to a lot of very nice home cooking from parents and grandparents. This meal felt like a home cooked meal and the servings were huge!
They have a good variety of gluten free options on the menu, except for dessert options (there are none), but in reality you’d be hard pressed to find the space for dessert once you’ve had a main – or you can always try a palinka (Hungarian brandy / vodka usually fruit flavoured).
